Pablo Casals, father of the solo 'cello, says that "music fills him with the wonder of life, and the 'incredible marvel' of being human."
Pamela WashburnPersonally, my first love is music, so I do what I enjoy. Professionally, I believe that playing an instrument is important for balancing creativity with purely mental work, and it has become crucial in this technological environment in which we live. My one goal is to convey to & inspire each student how they can always have enriching experiences in music/playing, if they dedicate themselves to the ideal of learning. I want each one to have in their life some of the transformational experiences I have had throughout my career as a professional cellist. No words can describe it. Being able to experience their confidence in solo and chamber music performances is a very important part of all that.
"My students excel and improve quickly, as we work thoroughly on the basics of technique, the beauty of phrasing and character in the music, and on confidence, leading each, step-by-step, into the beauty of the major repertoire which has been gifted to us by the great composers.
One of my focuses, as well, is to teach them that they can apply all that they gain in music to all areas of their life, now & after high school!" Ms. Washburn brings 40+ years of experience to her private cello teaching, both in Dallas and Albuquerque. Since her return to the Dallas area in 2014, a number of her students have won positions in the middle school and high school Texas All Region Orchestras, and in two of the Texas Allstate Orchestras. As she prepares students for Texas Allstate auditions, she remembers how inspiring were her four years on first stand of both Texas Allstate Orchestras.
While residing in New Mexico from 1995 through 2013, her students won positions in all levels of the orchestras of the Albuquerque Youth Symphony Program, placed into Concert and Symphonic orchestras in New Mexico Allstate, and have been the winners of solo concerto competitions.
Pamela's Studio is in far north Dallas, and is also very accessible to all of Plano, Richardson, and Carrollton. She has always enjoyed guiding youth and adults alike into nurturing their own creativity. <http://pamelacello.com/contact.html> (For a more complete bio, please visit: http://pamelacello.com/bio.html)
